This dongle works beautifully. I recently bought a cheap bluetooth dongle and had problems setting it up with a PS3 headset. I decided to take a chance and buy this one. The included disc got everything up and running smoothly. It is now paired with my phone, keyboard, and headset.
Haven't had any range issues, and the size of the adapter is amazing. I plugged this little Bluetooth adapter into my Lenovo S10 Netbook running Windows XP, and it installed right away without even having to use the included CD drivers. Connected my Logitech Bluetooth mouse and it synced perfectly. It barely sticks out of the Netbook, and fits in my laptop sleeve while still plugged in. I'm thinking about getting a couple more of these for my other laptops and even desktops.
I never tried the IOGEAR software CD that came with the unit. Just plugged it in and now I can walk into the kitchen with my bluetooth headphones sounding great.
I purchased a different Bluetooth USB 2.0 Micro Adapter Dongle for a little more than a dollar. To start off, I have an HP DV-4 laptop with Windows Vista premium home 64bit.
Now I could play music, but found out that the unit was not for me, the distance was too short, left the software in and purchased this unit the IOGEAR ADAPTER. The unit came with no software, I had to search and find the software IVT Bluesoleil and then it gave me 2 minutes of play time, plus the distance was 10 feet from the machine.
I purchased the software. This is the unit I was looking for.
Great job, IOGEAR.
I needed a bluetooth adapter for Ubuntu and this one was on an old list of compatible adapters. Since the price is pretty reasonable, I took a chance on it and it works fine with Ubuntu 9.x, as well as a couple of Windows based laptops I tried it in.
Worked right out of the box for me (XP SP3). I had to install the drivers from the CD for one of my cell phones, but the other worked just fine with the Microsoft drivers. I do note that the driver CD seems to hang for about a minute when you start the install, so watch out for that but I would try with the vanilla MS drivers first. One nice feature of the size is that it does not interfere with the adjacent USB port, a problem I had with my other Bluetooth dongle.
